Artist Statement
My works explore are based on my childhood memories and also feelings. Being a nostalgic person, I explore my childhood memories and develop a new interpretation from the past by using subject matter such as sceneries, still life, portraiture, and abstract. Creating a “new world” from old pictures of my childhood, makes me reconnect with my past and reflect upon it.
I tend to aim in surrealism, making my works in sort of a dreamlike mood which is by the colors I used and creating unrealistic situations. Another inspiration is also the impressionism movement, as I am often used bold marks and various bright colors in my painting.
